Leonaidas stared at the large door in the side of the mountain and wondered what lay behind in this reputed forge of the gods. They had gone through a lot to secure the gems said to be used to imbue weapons with great magical power. He fingered the one he had in his pouch and wondered if it really was true or just another legend.

"Any idea how we decide on how to use these crystal things?" said Polytropos, gazing up at the giant door. "Whose weapons recieve the power? Drawing straws... democratic vote... wrestling? Ooo, that's an idea..."

"Me. Me. Me. Me," states Kataramene. "You'd think we'd be more worried about what lies inside here now. If I remember well, it was challenging."

She hefts her sword. "Let's hope it still is."

Looks like everyone is at least 15th level now, so +1500xp to Telemachus, Leonidas, Polytropos, Andreas, and Kataramene for IC posting.

//Hey guys. I'm sorry for missing so many sessions lately, but we're in the middle of some major renovations. It seems that every time we opened something up, we found something new that needed to be fixed. Since it looks like the reno will be going on well into next month, if not May, I'm going to bow out because I can't commit to being here regularly and I'm already fairly far behind. It was a pleasure playing with you all and I hope to catch you guys again sometime in the future. Good luck and happy gaming. :)

//That sucks GW. No chance of coming back in a month or two?

By the way, I won't be able to make the game tomorrow, I have to work. I tried to get out of it but no dice. :(

It was nice to be back in civilization and enjoy a warm bed and good drink. Leonaidas was also pleased he'd finally gotten some coin to spend after what seemed like forever. He'd sold off his well-worn cloak and bought a new one which provided more blessings and protection from the gods; he figured he'd need it based on what the others had told him about their upcoming mission. He only hoped the rewards were equal to the risks. Yawning, he turned over and drifted off to sleep.

OC: I'm taking my notebook with me to the in-laws this evening and, assuming I can successfully get connected to their wireless LAN, will attempt to join the game. The twins should be sound asleep by that time, but I may have to take a break for feeding if one wakes up.

IC

The merry adventurers made it back to the city to re-supply. Andreas was happy to be back perhaps he was missing the arena. People had moved into the old mansion. The farm was as good as ever. Soon they would have to leave again to face their destiny.

"When are we moving out? Dawn should be good no?"

OOC

Sorry about GW unable to continue the Greek campaign. See you around mate. Hope that you will be back sooner than later.

I would like to point out something about my playing style. I just hope that this is ok with you guys. In any case the DM is always right ;-)
I am sharing this because last game some of us did a bit of shopping and I did see some items Andreas could use but being old school DnD/AD&D I always quote page 92 of the old DMG:

"Just as it is important to use forethought and consideration in placing valuable metals and other substances with monsters or otherwise hiding them in dungeon or wilderness, the placement of magic items is a serious matter. Thoughtless placement of powerful magic items has been the ruination of many a campaign. Not only does this cheapen what should be rare and precious, it gives player characters undeserved advancement and empowers them to become virtual rulers of all they survey. This is in part the fault of this writer, who deeply regrets not taking the time and space in D&D to stress repeatedly the importance of moderation..."

We do not have such problem in LB's campaigns but still, I'd rather find a +1 item in a dungeon or on a corpse rather than buying magical items at the nearest shop. I can buy healing or camping kits. I can request an item to be made IC. This thing is "in the DNA" of all my DnD/NWN characters regardless of race/class... Does this fit my character? Andreas likes to show stuff, so a big mansion, a boat, a hundred horses, a gladiator school are things he would spend all his gold on, not fancy trinkets.

Anyway I hope that I am not boring you with this.
