Sorry about that. I guess I should have waited another few minutes. But as it happened Pius came along at exactly the right moment.Mirgalen wrote://

//Just a reminder: the US and Mexico have fallen back, so we should all be on the same time next time. Well, everybody except for Karvon, but he lives in a backwards country.
Toric celebrated long into the night with the others, occasionally pulling out his ax and showing it to anybody who would look. At one time he even tracked down Captain Liu and showed it to her. When the Dwarf brothers offered to buy it, he sneered and wouldn't be consoled until they brought him a few rounds of ale. Towards morning, while most were sleeping off their hangovers, he was still sitting at the large table in the inn admiring his shinny new toy.

The team returned to the gigantic hall made of granite, marble and in some places lapis lazuli. Again they were welcomed by the dwarf spirit who urged them to deal with the evil creature who had invaded the sanctuary.
To reach the heart of the tomb they had to avoid a giant construct who was guarding the place against any intruder, friend or foe. The machine was moving slowly so it was possible to run and avoid direct confrontation. At last they returned into the chamber where they had first faced the invulnerable creature. This time they had the swords forged by the giant so it was only a matter of time before they could rid the place of any evil presence.

"A toast!" Nihmri said, at some point during the festivities. She raised her cup high, spilling a moderate quantity of ale in the process. "To never having to solve a gods-damned single one of this island's problems ever again!"
After a healthy swig, she wiped the side of her mouth and shook her head, grinning. "It's nothing personal, mind. I'm sure I'm bound to miss this doomed old place. But I'll be happy to see the Temple and the Prelate again."
She glanced over her shoulder, where a certain dwarf was in the process of regaling some poor innocent soul with the tale of his beloved axe. "I'll be even happier, I think, when Toric gets over that new toy of his. Seriously, man, stop fondling the blasted thing! It's getting to be downright unseemly."

"She's got a point Toric, If you don't calm down one of us will have to officiate a wedding. I hate doing that, I can never remember all the vows."
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"I second that, weddings are so ... limiting." Shanni raised her glass too. At some point she had discarded the chainmail shirt she had been wearing, bathed thoroughly, donned a figure flattering dress of a light fabric that she appeared to have brought with her, and matched that approach with seemingly casually styled but carefully arranged hair. As dressed to kill, metaphorically speaking, as she would have been wearing full armour and wielding a weapon.
"But I'm not so sure about just going back to the Temple. At least not to stay," she continued. "I mean, we've solved problems and achieved a tidy gain from this island. Two of us with weapons of silver, one with a fantastic dwarven gift, another with the gift of a goddess, and the rest of us have better equipment even if it's just hand me downs." She gestured over her head, giving the impression of indicating upstairs where some had left their gear. "Plus we've the means to obtain more."
"The Lady was surely with us in that respect, and I don't think we should stop now when there's adventure to be had. Speaking of which..." The young woman cast her eyes around, with a calculating expression, checking out the people in the room with an impish grin. "The there might be some interesting adventure to be had before we leave."

Suula looks sour, almost as if in response to her sister's enthusiasm. "We can't just go off wandering, we made a promise to the Temple back home that we'd represent our faiths around here, for frying out loud. You know, a promise... one of those things you try and keep..."
She looks around the table, and finds Amathain. "Promises are important, wouldn't you agree?"
