Re: X-COM: Aliens
They were all exploded again.. but this time the mission was a success? He supposed they had done everything they were supposed to. Wild wasn't too sure how to process all this. But the masters seemed happy, so that's all that matters.. right?
Re: X-COM: Aliens
Day of the Phoenix(es) - Based on databank, refers to birds that if killed will regenerate.
First they (the clones) had completed a project making the lab better somehow, at least that is what the Elders had said. As a reward they were granted more knowledge.
Next they went down to the surface to retrieve Humans devices. They landed in a green place, with grass and trees. Some humans were there but no soldiers. After killing them they entered (old?) odd looking structure. More humans, more kills. Same thing downstairs. As the shuttle was going back with two Human items the shuttle broke down (Humans shot us?) and all had to get out quickly to avoid being killed again by the explosion triggered by the shuttle self destruct mechanism. Fast did not know if one of the clone still had the Humans items or if they were destroyed with the shuttle. Next, they got in a big ship where Floaters ordered them to go and bring fear to Humans. Fast registered that they had to kill all or as many as possible to complete this mission.
They ended up in an urban area. Fast could not see too well (OOC: due to sub-optimal camera settings) and just followed the others. At one point a large group of humans approached, too many in fact. Fast had two bombs. He moved forward to throw one. It malfunctioned (may be?) and did not explode. The second bomb did and many humans fell. Before he could retreat and rejoin with the group another human who was coming from another direction shot him. He fell.
(OOC: after that the bleeding system kicked in. Not sure if it was working properly or not. Fast was on the grown not moving and inch.
After a cycle of bleed-recover-die triggering multiple xp penalties he got to see the white light...)
A new fast clone emerged to find the others and a Elder somehow pleased. Pleased? So he got more knowledge and went back to work in the lab.
OOC
The next lab upgrade seems to make sense as we have a lot of points left over from the previous roll even if it means not following orders.
Fast will support (Craft Mechanical +7)
Unlikely to lvl (XP at 27xx) but will go for Floater next.

Re: X-COM: Aliens
Note that in addition to the posting benefit you get a small XP bonus each time a research project is successfully completed.
Re: X-COM: Aliens
The Strong One looked around the lab and remarked, "We close to better lab. Better lab mean more equipment. I say we make better lab before trying human language. Still need to return to better lab though so can make better stuff in future. No more boom!"

At the moment, you're the project leader! We'll see what happens before tomorrow morning's results post...Mirgalen wrote:The next lab upgrade seems to make sense as we have a lot of points left over from the previous roll even if it means not following orders.

Re: X-COM: Aliens
Once again, the Pale One experienced death. It did not enjoy it.
It was different this time, it supposed. This time, the masters had wanted for their deaths - anticipated it, orchestrated it. It was uncertain how to feel about this. Clearly, they had still disappointed the masters. They had died with greater alacrity than had been desired. Had they done right? Would they not have done better if they had been told the truth?
It thought, also, of the shuttle that had been lost in their mission - and the way it had screamed in panic and pain right before it died, begging not to be abandoned. It was the first time it was that close to that kind of terror. The same sort of terror the masters wanted the humans to feel, it supposed - the sort of terror that crippled, that brought low.
It pondered these things as it worked, speaking only briefly to direct the others.
