I converted an existing thread over; this will be the home of the Guns, Goblins, and Steel campaign until NWC or another replacement becomes available.

OOC

Majid Kemal (lvl 7 Fighter/Druid), available for the next game.

IC

Things we take for granted had to be unlearned. Nations, politics, religions, oil, stock market, war on terror... All that was useless here. A simple life was their curse or perhaps there blessing. No TV, no MP3 player, no movie, no video game, no electricity, no cars... The list was long. It was like the middle age in some remote world with bits and pieces of fairy tale like monsters and magic. The air was pure, no pollution, the water was clean, the grass was green. The biodiversity was amazing and to one who could listen Nature could speak. Sure it was no walk in the park. In the swamps all kinds of insects were very hostile and rather large, snakes and other crocodiles. Yet, they had done it. Crossed that swamp, defeated the talking lizards or at least some of them, faced the "dragon" and used a few clips of ammo to take him down. Now it was time to go back, drink some warm ale and feast around the fire in the castle...

I will continue to send the IP out by e-mail; check your in-boxes before the start of the game, or just connect via your favorites/history list in the NWN multiplayer browser.

We have a new player joining, he will encounter the group shortly after you depart Seaguard. We'll start the session with the group about to embark on a ship heading back to Camar.

Simmons packed his gear in preparation for the move back to Camar. He took particular care of the stone tablet they had come so far to find and that could be their ticket back home. Tightening the last strap on his backpack, his mind wondered whether they would ever make it back. What would they do if that proved impossible? His stomach knotted at the prospect but he had to face reality. From what he had seen of this world so far, Seaguard seemed the best place to stay on long term despite the dangers of the area. They could have land and titles here, a far cry from his more humble background. With so many dangers and limited means and manpower, the opportunities for advancement were almost limitless. Then there was the highly strung woman that had caught his eye. Even though she was spoken for, who knew what turn of events could happen? The corner of his mouth raised itself slightly as if to say, now there was a challenge!

Magda sat staring at her hands then down the length of herself. They seemed solid enough, the whole of her did, and yet there was no denying sometimes she simply was not being seen. It had nothing to do with those "invisibility potions" Washington claimed worked, simply that sometimes - most of the time - when she decided she didn't want to be seen, she wasn't.

First the scorpions had just run past her, paying her no heed, as she stood frozen with surprise. Then again in the tunnels beneath the tree when one had run at her she'd frozen and the lizardman had simply stopped attacking her, an expression of what might have been surprise on its face, and turned away.

She lay back on the cot, hands tucked behind her head, letting the sounds of raucous celebratory chatter from the squad on the other side of the room wash over her. The times she had wished to not be seen were long past, she'd thought. She'd trained long and hard so that she would never feel threatened enough ever again. Until now. Though she tried hard not to show weakness, tried too hard perhaps, this place unnerved her and the feelings were all back.

But there was something about this place, primative in so many ways, that home didn't have. It was showing up in so many ways. People who wished for something with their mind and it simply happened. Sure they covered it wth mumbo jumbo words and finger waggling, but it was surely something their head wanted. Was this just one of them?

It didn't matter. She let her eyes close and the sound of the squad fade away. If it continued to work then no one could touch her here.

Junior slowly sorted thru his gear, checking his ever dwindling rounds and then methodically broke down, cleaned then reassembled his rifle. He wondered how much longer he'd be able to use it. It was highly unlikely they'd be able to manufacture replacement rounds in this world. Perhaps he could pawn it off to a curious wizard. The ork longbow he'd picked up had proved fairly useful most of the time. While it naturally didn't have the power of his rifle, he did have plenty of arrows so could use it more indiscriminately and had become pretty competent with it. He'd even gotten a bit better hefting the long sword he'd stripped off one of the bandits they'd dispatched on an earlier mission. The blade was a rather simple and worn one, but seemed to do the job OK, most of the time. Maybe he could get himself a magic one somewhere somehow?

((OOC - Been told by Shadani that he can't register with the site. I've dropped in a bug report but it still won't let him create an account for even a last minute post.))

I heard the same thing from our new player. Gulfwulf said that they've opened up registration, but that a new account requires admin approval. I'll contact him after the game.

Since everyone at least tried to post, I'll go ahead and offer the full posting bonus, 1200xp.

OOC

Signing up for next session.
Thanks for the full XP LB.

IC

Majid Kemal was standing on the deck. Adventuring was over for the moment. He had said farewell to the "spirit wolf" and was eager to summon a bird to help scout the riverbanks.

All would be well if the trip had not been interrupted by "zombies-pirates" eager to torn the flesh of the living. One sailor was down and arrows were not doing anything to these creatures...
