Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread

Eleni sighed and gave Telemachus a half-hearted punch on the shoulder.
"You had better not. I only had one of those scrolls, and I do not wish to incur any more divine debts. I will let you know when you have my permission to die."
"As for this sorcerer... he was in the process of fleeing. We interrupted him. We can safely assume we have cut off his most accessible escape route, but he has the advantage of terrain here: he knows this twisted place far better than us. My first thought is to that portal we found near the room with the tome, but he could just as easily have gone for the main entrance - or deeper into the labyrinth..."

Andreas looked confused.
"I am really sorry. I only had one kit left. So... Damian was the wise choice since only he could use magic to heal others. What else could I do? May be it's just fate."
"I don't even remember clearly... There was the Minotaur, was there one or two mages? I remember knocking down a mage, was that in another chamber? I know I was unconscious for a while and Damian saved me. I remember... I remember the mage, I did strike him but he had a green aura around him and the pain I inflicted him he somehow turned it back at me. I felt like I was burning and I could smell acid..."
"What happened? Did he flee? Did we kill that minotaur?"

Leonaidas sat and listened to the others debate a course of action while idly strumming his harp. He wasn't too keen on chasing a mage who'd nearly managed to ice the whole party and he doubted they could find him very easily given he'd obviously been down here awhile and likely knew his way around. He took comfort in the thought that by the party finally finished deliberating, the mage would likely be long gone.
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread
"We beat him and made him flee, Andreas," Polytropos says, fingering the tiny bronze skull while keeping an eye out for the supposed supply boat. "But I say if we really want to beat him, then the only way to do it is to beat him to that treasure. Think on it! A treasure in the Labyrinth, set here by old Daedalus himself! Not even Theseus's story speaks of such. We could attach our names to the legend! We'd live forever!"
"I mean," he adds, "I know we've got to warn the Cretan King and all, but these guards can do that if we show them the way, right? Right?" he looks hopefully at the men. "We can show you the way out, it's not too far out of our way..."

Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread
They had done it: they found the king's missing men and discovered the "secret" behind the labyrinth. Now they were on their way back to the king to tell him the good news and hopefully ferret out the spy in his court. Damian breathed deeply and scratched Aias' ears, more than happy to be back in the fresh air. He look at the others, "I don't know about you all, but I'm more than ready to get away from this place. I've had enough of labyrinths. Next time, let's go somewhere that has more trees."
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread
"Yes, trees would be good."
They had rescued prisoners, avoided a few deadly traps, battled foes some alive some less and found the way back to the exit with some relics to prove it.
"Shall we go see the Nile river once we are done in this kingdom?"
OOC
I am expecting relatives to be around next week. First week-end of March game may be compromised.
Count me out just to be safe although since the game is late (for me) I may be able to get home and join the party.

"That was the plan, yes," Eleni said, seemingly just before Andreas finished speaking. She blinked. "Gods, this feels strange. Give me a moment, please... ah, that's much better."
The sorceress shook her head and stopped toying with her fancy new, if technically actually somewhat ancient, garment. "This thing will take some getting used to. It turns out that prescience gives me headaches. Also, it really needs more adjustments than I can give alone - Daedelus wasn't exactly my size, I think. Do you think we can stop by a tailor in Knossos before we leave? But, oh - right. Planning."
She cleared her throat, and in an instant was entirely business.
"As I said - the plan was for us to head directly south to Egypt unless we judged that there was something that very definitely required the attention of the Council of Argos. What we have discovered here - these easterners seeking to undermine and destabilize Crete and Hellas both - may qualify... though I don't quite see what we might convey that a royal messenger cannot, yes? Therefore, it seems to me the wisest course of action would be to ensure such a messenger is dispatched, then continue as we originally planned. Egypt's troubles, whatever they may be, might grow much greater in the extra week or two we would spend in transit."
With that said, Eleni smiled and turned her head towards Damian. "I'm afraid we probably won't find very many forests down there, though. But at least some unfamiliar flora and fauna with which to get acquainted, hopefully!"

"I wouldn't mind spending a bit less time getting minced by traps next time, that's for damn sure. Still we accomplished our mission, and found some handy new tools, and I only had to die the one time." Telemachus said, rolling his eyes towards the end. "If we get a chance I'd like to take a look at some of that armour they had in the market, we should have some spare funds now?"
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread
Katamarene had been looking critically at Eleni as she spoke and moved over to the girl, commenting as she did.
"Hmm... yes," she said, walking around Eleni and pursing her lips. "I say we resupply, make any affordable purchases we can that will aid us, and move on to Egypt. Eleni is correct, we don't need to take the message personally and it's time wasted to try. Now if you just flounce it over the belt and .... hold still..."
She reached out towards the sorceress, while taking a pin out of her hair. Pulling at various parts of the robe she wore, tugging it up over the belted waist and using the pin to secure some of the fabric in folds at the shoulder.
"There you go. That'll stop you tripping over it and look less like you decided to wear a tent." She grinned. "If anyone comments in the city we can always demand satisfaction in a duel."
