OOC

Starting gear: all players will be issued a simple chiton (tunic) at the start of play.

I am still wearing that LOL.

No class restriction? How about multi-classing and using Prestige class (obviously w/o things like PDK, Blackguard, Harper or CoT as they do not fit the settings)?

We should have lost 3 players last week-end but I see that it was better to postpone.

IC

"I wish we were in Mantineia already, I want to see Pedaeus and show him the trophy I got in the arena."

Andreas was impatient he could have left right after receiving the message but he knew that some of his his friends would want to go to the market while others would want to simply rest or perfect their arcane or divine magic. If bored there was always Aias, wrestling with a bear without getting injured was not a small feat. If only they had a student or two he could teach them something or at least try to...

You can do anything that you can find a way to role-play into the setting. A Champion of Torm, for example, could be a Champion of Athena, or any other Greek god/goddess.

"You're not the only one who wants to be back in Mantinela, Andreas, but the roads are hazardous and we will need more healing supplies than what we currently carry to see us safely there. Or did you forget the trip up here already?" Damian grinned. He turned to El and laid a hand on her shoulder. "We are all saddened by the passing of Aristarchus, El. Know that we're here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. Remember that he cared for you very much and even now is looking over you. I know he's proud of what he sees; no master could have asked for a better apprentice."

Leonaidas wasn't particularly thrilled about going back to the old village. He didn't really miss anyone from there and there was nothing waiting for him there, as far as he knew at least. It might be nice to look in on his old mentor; he might be rather surprised to see how success he'd turned out to be.

"Wait for me!" Polytropos called, dashing up the road. "Absolutely right it'll be dangerous, and that's why you need me! There were bandits we ran into last time, and those whoresons might just be looking to re-acquaint themselves now that we've got some wargear worth stealing. And I'll be hunted by the Furies if I let my stuff end up in the hands of some jackal!"

Back in the village at last. The journey had been fairly quiet. They had only met a few bandits easily dispatched and the Sphinx who was always looking for new riddles. Before going again chasing trouble all Andreas wanted was some wine, half a wild boar and a pint of olive oil to cover most of his body. For a warrior without armour, dodging and tumbling were the only way to avoid deadly blows when that was not enough sometimes the right amount of oil was what it took to make an arrow or sword slide to the side causing little if any injury...

"Where did everyone go?"

Damien studied the crystal ball with a frown on his face. "So you're saying that Aristarchus could see far places with this?" He gently tapped the ball. "Huh. Well, I never really understood magic, so I can't say that it's impossible. It's a shame you never learned that skill, El, it might come in handy." He shook his head and turned to the chessboard. "Now this looks interesting. I take it that this is a game of skill, right? What's the objective and what are the rules? It looks like something I wouldn't mind learning how to play. If anything, it would help pass the time and keep our minds sharp. I'd say we teach Andreas how to play, but the pieces would likely slip out of his oiled fingers. Besides, Aias would be lonely without someone to pin down and lay on." He grinned and turned to El. "Did Aristarchus leave you anything we can use against that 'dragon'? Knowing him, he would know that where ever your path took you, you would need assistance. And I'm sure he would want to make sure that you were as fully prepared as he could make you. That reminds me, I need to see Ismene before we leave and see if I can learn how to make those healing kits. As fast as we go through them, having some extra around when we're far from a merchant wouldn't hurt."
