Several of the clones don't even show up to the lab this week, perhaps offering a protest to the irascible clone's leadership.
No, it's because they took too long to post and I didn't know what we were working on. :P

My wife's mother is on her death bed, which is why I've been a bit scatterbrained here lately. My wife is taking care of her, which is why I haven't dropped out - having something regular each week helps because I look forward to the campaign. But, I would ask that someone fill me in after each session should I have to leave early while we're discussing research projects so I can make sure I get my post and skills in before the deadline. Thanks.

Upon reflection, I realize I could have just asked what we were researching IC, but as I said above, scatterbrained. My apologies.

The comment was intended as a lighthearted teasing rather than a profound sentiment of deep disappointment. ;)

The IC posting and research "metagame" is intended as an added bonus to the campaign and is entirely optional.

//Apologies to all for being AWOL last session, family emergency popped up. I'm crazy busy during the week, so don't have time to read or post til Saturday evening Jpn time, which is after the new deadline. Hence, my silence of late. With that in mind, I designed Tough as a scout/sniper with very little in the way of tech skills. I've usually taken 1serum for self repair and one syringe to save others, which I've done a number of times. I'll take whatever rifle is available, though naturally I'd love a sniper one :) I've been taking a couple of grenades most missions, but have been given more on occasion.

The Quiet One examines the work that Fast, Nimble, and Scowling have done on the serum. "I think I can help with the delivery mechanism." It pauses, "And I've been thinking that maybe we can design a holder on our belts to dispense this serum and the regenerative more quickly?"

The clone is very focused in it's new body, and seems to have both a much better understanding of the project and is more adept at crafting and refining the various tiny mechanical components.

// Craft Mechanical: 12 -- Leveled and new Feat!
// Helping with the serum and then with improved armor next since we'll likely be nearly there.

Strong nodded at Quiet. "I think that's a good idea. I'll see if I can help with the mechanism, if not the serum itself." He set to work on the sample Scowling had given him, unconsciously rubbing the area the later had taken its "sample" from.

I reverted to an earlier save and the guns all appear to be working now. A weird glitch.

The clones were back in the lab reviewing their options.

"We need to complete this Intensity Serum so that we will have something to show to 'the management'." For some unknown reason Fast used a human expression. Management was how humans talked about Elders, Masters and other types of leaders. After so many days learning from the dedicated terminals, they all had some understanding of Earth geography and climates as well as humans history, societies and some of their strengths and weaknesses. Something they had found was that humans were quick learners and able to adapt.

There was still the questions of the strange crystal, protocol 66 and other unknown that Fast wanted to ignore or forget at least for the present time. He remembered the test with the clones pretending to desire nothing else but live "free". What if the group had decided to accept the offer? Fast did not want to imagine going back and having to explain why some of them were missing facing punishment if not worse.

He turned back to the task at hand. The others were still busy with the intensity serum.

"This one almost done, yes? Then what? Make better protection? Sounds like good idea, yes?"

Fast to help complete the new intensity serum.

Strong looked at Fast with a expression reminiscent of a quirked eyebrow. "'The management', Fast? If by that you mean the Elder and the Masters, then I agree. We do need better medicine and protection, certainly. I'm not sure if we really need improved viroblades due to only Pale and Scowling currently using them." He held up his hands. "It's not like I'll be using a vibroblade again for awhile." He looked around the lab. "With everyone here, we should have better success this time. At the very least, we should have something to show the Elder to assuage any suspicions he may have."

"Not know what management is," muttered Nimble, "we just get told what do. But yes, think it best make better protection if can, fast as can." The clone looked at Pale with a quick, anxious seeming shift of the head. "If there going to be day soon where we not want to be told what to do..." this time it flashed a glance at Scowling, "... by the Elders then we should learn all we can, also fast as can, not just protection."

"This first, though, because if we decide we not want to be told what to do by Elders then we have to run fast as can. There not be uploading any more whether we want it or not." Thoughts of future mortality lurked uncertainly in the floater's mind, perhaps. "Better protection going to be essential."

((Craft Mechanical 13 again, in support on the serum and then armouring projects.))
