Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

"What do ye'll think them stoneheads on the council will do? Think they'll give in to that dragon's demands or continue to hide their collective heads in the sand and pretend we'll defeat that dragon? If'n I had known what they did, I'da stopped at the giants. But we're in it neck deep now, so it be time to deal with that thing one way or 'nother. I'd like to reason with it, but it sounded like it was beyond such. Guess we'll see."

"I knew the north would be a mad place," Nihmri said, with the weariest of sighs. "But this really does bring us to the center of an altogether quite novel confluence of stupidity, does it not? I wonder if it's a symptom of the cold. Freezes the brain and slows the mind, and suchlike."

"Their hubris has indeed cost much for the innocent civilians caught in the path of the giants and the dragons wrath. However the past cannot be changed, no matter how justified the dragon might feel, what it has done is equally heinous, and it took this course with full knowledge of what it was doing. It must be stopped."

"I can't help but wonder what we would have done in it's place," Shanni responded. "Family is .. important. I don't know how many of you have that much of a family, but I can tell you that much. Torric at least should understand." She shook her head.
"No, they've been utter unthinking idiots and caused the deaths of uncounted creatures, endangering far more, by their stupidity. If the dragon needs to be punished for its actions, and I can't truthfully say he shouldn't, then they should be too." Her mouth set in a determined line. "We may make our own luck, and the Lady certainly favours the brave, but this was not a venturous mistake on their part - it was bureacratic ignorance. They should definitely not be allowed to prosper further by it."

Suula looked uncertain... afraid, for a moment. Then, she gathered her courage and spoke. "If we do this, it won't be without loss," she said. "I... I undertook one of the old readings before we travelled north. Saw disaster.... a Tower... sacrifice." She looked grim, and her eyes flicked between Shanni, Amathain, Nihmri, Toric, Slade, Pius... "If we take this road, I think one of us is going to die."
She stands against the snowcovered, grim landscape, her eyes hollow... and for once, for once, there is a rumble of thunder in the distance.

Looks like we'll need to reboot the server. I should have remembered that one area causes you problems.
